The project was constrained by three key requirements: it needed to read as a bike bottle on the shelf, fit in most standard bike cages, and provide insulation. Our design process was highly iterative, relying on rapid prototyping: we printed, tested, modified, and reprinted prototypes until the form worked with the majority of bikes and cages on the market.

To better understand our two target user groups, the casual commuter and the bike enthusiast, we also conducted focus groups in two regions, Seattle and Austin, gathering feedback that informed form, ergonomics, and usability decisions.
